Question Can the passenger airbags be turned off? 2012?

Just curious but can the passenger side airbag be turned off on a 2012?

I don't have a lot of experience with newer stuff but I remember a decade or so ago it was pretty common.

There is no legit way to turn it off unless you want to attempt to disable a fuse or something else. Not going to get into that.

Passenger side seat has a sensor in it, if no one is in it it wont go off in a collision.

I thought all cars had to have a weight sensor in the passenger seat these days. I remember when a lot of kids were getting hurt / killed by airbags back in the day.

If I put a heavy book-bag on the passenger seat my JKU sometimes "thinks" someone is sitting in the passenger seat, so I started putting it on the back seat floor.
