However, the headlights get pulse width modulated power from the TIPM, and instead of having a ground connected to the body, they have a wire return to the TIPM. The wire is called "Headlamp Signal Return". One return wire serves both high and low beams in each fixture.

Well I'm definitely not screwin with the headlights now. I really appreciate everyones help.

For what purpose do the headlights have PWM power?

Extended bulb life, lower power consumption, while putting out the same amount of light as pure direct current.

This is what I got for measurements on my 2008 JK:

Measured with two different instruments....

Headlights on with engine running:
78% duty cycle; 90Hz

Headlights on with engine off:

Pure direct current.

Question now that this has been resolved......Ron you've isolated all of the fuses in the system but I stumbled across one this past weekend behind the driver's side headlight bucket. Any idea what it's for.....horn maybe?? You can see the horn there on the left but it's fed by 2 small ga wires coming out of the harness (power and ground).

That looks like the cooling fan high speed relay.
I'd have to see it from the top to be sure.

Thanks, I thought all of our relays were in the box so figured this would be important to bring up if one were to go bad on someone.
