i just painted the lower end stock rims due a lack of cash, this is how they ended up. after 6 months they are still holding up...i got a nick in one and all i did was touch it up with touch up paint, and it looked perfect again. unfortunately when i upgraded my tires, the mechanics werent too gentle with them and scratched them up pretty good but the touch up paint still cleaned it up. so if you plan on changing tires soon, i recommend holding off for a bit.

Painted mine yesterday! They look like they came from the factory! Extremely happy with my results.

I used rustoleum automobile primer and rustoleum flat black enamel. Started by degreasing the wheels with engine degreaser. Then sanded everything with 220 and then a brillow pad. Next wiped down everything with acetone. Then applied two coats of primer. Then two coats of flat black. Couldn't be happier! $1000 effect for $50.

Default Example of 18s painted

If you decide to do this, don't paint the lug nut holes. Take five lugs, cover them with TAPE and use them to place in the holes for each paint job. I put one thick layer of the truck bed liner spray paint on first, then two more layers of thin paint. The thin layers are what gives the paint the rough/bumpy look. I painted them with the rubber on. Just tape around the edges. I decided to leave the outer ring for two reasons: One: it gives it a custom look, two: it allows you to put on the weight balances on the wheel without having to paint over them.

I got some rubi take offs on a good deal so I went with those and panted them with Duplicolor Bedliner. I like non gloss look plus I like how it matches the texture of my bumper aswell as super easy to touch up.Click image for larger version

I used wheel specific metallic silver spray paint from auto parts store. With thorough prep, I was able to make them real nice. 4 coats of paint, 3 coats of matte clear

Bed lined American racing punisher rims. They used to be back chrome until they got torn up from rock rash.
