So I got the top, but no nuts and bolt type hardware. Seller said I use the hardware from the hardtop, is that right?

I'm pretty sure the mounting is completely different for the soft/hard top and soft tops also use a bow kit, if memory serves me correct. Don't think if you went from hard top to soft top that you would have all of it. :-/

Yes I think I'm missing a few pieces.

The 07 and 08's ???? Don't use the cable system ???

So I'm not sure how different the mounting is to the 2012's

On my 12 4dr you have the soft top

The 4 ends then bolt into two brackets when then bolt into the rear of the rear roll bar.

You need the door surrounds for the rear and the straight pieces for the front surrounds

There is 4 long and 2 short hand grip style screws which secure the surrounds to the roll bars with the two short bolts attaching in the middle

You need the rear window bar / tail gate bar

And the tail gate inserts which attach to the rear of the jeep each side by the tail gate closing area

And you need your windows

Not sure if you watched my video but it shows all these pieces

Again this is for the 4 door

Nothing from the hardtop goes with the soft top

Yes, your video is very helpful. I know exactly what parts I need: the 2 long knobs and short ones and the two tailgate clips. I got the mopar part numbers and will start looking for them online:
55395761ae
5539576oae
55397130ac x4
55397132ab x2

I did ask the guy I bought the top from if he had them, and he's looking for them. He seemed like an honest guy, I'm sure he thought everything was there too.

Being one track minded, I fixed the broken part.
I drilled a hole through the piece and sent a screw through it. Seems real sturdy and even with the other side. I'll reinforce it with that metal glue paste they sell at automotive stores.

So what piece of hardware attaches the soft top to the rear roll bar?

Sooo... Still haven't gotten this installed, but the freezing cold weather is the real reason I haven't accomplished this.

I did move around the soft top resulting in my cheap fix with the screw breaking. But I still think it's a viable fix, so I drilled out the old screw and used a 1/4 inch tap to thread the parts and put a grade 8 bolt in this time.

I can't imagine that I'll break that bolt, and I have an extra in case the other side ever breaks too.

Also I purchased all the parts I need from Morriss 4x4. They have a great website with schematics of all the parts involved with the Mopar soft top and I also used the instructions from the Bestop NX soft top to figure out all the parts I need.

Here is helpful advice to anyone who is buying a used soft top on CL or on this site: Most likely anyone who swears they have all the parts needed, does not have them all 100%. Unless the top is brand new, never installed in the box. If they say things like, "I traded in the jeep with the hard top on," then I bet you the brackets for the roll bars are at least missing, along with the screws. I am not trying to say people are dishonest or anything, but there are a lot of little parts.

Here is a list of parts needed for the soft top that are less obvious than the top, frame, door surrounds, windows, etc.

Rear Window Retainer
Rear Window Retainer Clips (55395761AD, 55395760AD)
4 Shoulder screws (6036311AA)
Brackets for roll bars (55397229AB, 55397228AB)
4 Self Tapping Screw (for roll bars) (06503259)
4 long and 2 short door surround knobs (I bought the Drake ones instead of Mopar to save money JP-180028-BL)

I hope my posting will help other's get a good deal on a soft top. I will post picks once I get this installed, or if I run into any other problems.
