Default Broken rear shock on Rubicon

We noticed today that the drivers rear shock was broken on our 08 Rubicon. It's at the dealership now getting it replaced under warranty. Just wanna see if this has happened to anyone else out there. Sorry, no pics cause I forgot my phone at the house this morning when we left.

Though they may be stock, those Rubi shocks are nothing to sneer at. Any idea how you did it? Blazing down a trail a little fast maybe?

Was it the bar pin or the actual shock?

Our roads up here are more likely to break shocks than the trails.

Has not happened yet, but would not be suprised.

As far as 'how' it happened, not sure. we went out a few weeks ago and hit a few things pretty hard, but i didn't see it afterwards when i was washing all the mud off from under it. My wife has hit a few road construction areas here lately pretty hard. So as far as how, not 100% sure, maybe a combination of the two, off road and construction areas.

From what it looks like, didn't crawl around too much since we noticed it while running around town, it's piston of the shock. Looks like where the piston mounts to the upper shock mount. They said that it should be ready Monday so I'm going to grab a few pictures of it then. I"m also gonna make em replace both rear shocks and not just one. Doesn't make sense to me to replace one and leave the other side alone.
