Default Brake Fluid... DOT-3 or DOT-4 and Quantity?

Does anyone know how much brake fluid is required for a complete change?

Also, is there any advantage to using DOT-4 instead of DOT-3? The manual suggests DOT-3 but says DOT-4 is also "acceptable".

Thanks,
js.

Dot 4. Ford brand. That combination is as good as it gets.
