yep, that's what I did. Rustoleum also has a version of spray for plastic. I think it's actually called Rustoleum Plastic.

Has anyone tried bed lining or plasti-dipping the fenders?

That is actually my thought as well. I got 2 gallons of bedliner and doing my front bumper and rockers (rear is new so not sure if I want to do it yet). Was thinking of doing the fenders as well so it all matches. But.. figured I would see how difficult it is to paint the bumper first before going all in. Went with monstaliner.

Personally wouldn't do plastidip on the fenders since they get scratched and not a big fan of having to touch up if I don't have to.

I use Mother's "Back to Black" but it will last about two weeks before I have to reapply.

I can vouch for heat on jk fenders. I have done this on used ones I got from a forum member.
