Question Back seat in 2 DR Sahara

Howdy.

just a quick question. >>>> The bench in the back of my 2 door: it doesn't lock in place when the seat is in 'sitting mode'. When I pull the hatch to fold it up to get the dog cage in the back, it'll fold all neat. When I put the seat down and open it up for people to sit on, the latches under neath don't lock onto the hooks on the floor of the Jeep. Its annoying and a safety hazzard.

Can someone help me figure out why? Am I missing another level somewhere?
Thanks, and sry for the stupid question. I jus cant figure it out and its bothering me.

Mine acts the same way-It will only lock if I put the rear seat back in the upright position and then fold back. Make sure you do not have a rear floor liner or anything holding it up.

That should be snapping locked just putting the seat back in position, if the lever thing works for you fine, but if under warranty I would have it fixed. If not
I dont know whats invloved in getting in there to check it, usually they get stuck and can be freed and may need some lube.

Mine only locks in place when I put the seat back down and then the seatback back up. I just got rid of it. I never use it. Plus its hard as hell to get people in the back seat on a 2 door.

Look carefully as you pull it back, it is usually the rug getting in the way. If you're lazy sometime just slam it down twice if the first one doesn't get it.

If you messed this up like I did today...

Make sure you've pulled the lateral bar, so you can get the first hook thing open and then you'll be able to get the bench settled on the front two floor loops, then it'll swing down and lock.

I had it misaligned with the second hook sitting on the front floor loop - the seat could be opened up and rest on the back loop, but it wouldn't lock.

Cheers

Never any trouble with mine as long as I use a little momentum to bring it down. Having the seat back upright does seem to help though.
