Default Back gate open on road

Just got my new 2010 2 door wrangler. I need to transport a wide screen tv and in order to do so I can not close the back gate. Will this cause damage to the gate. Thanks for any helpful comments

nah... you should be fine.. i would bungee cord it shut or tie it from flying around.. maybe even just take or spare tire off of it just to take some weight off.. but if your not going far i wouldn't worry about it . oh and congrats to with the new jeep and welcome to the forum

Also make sure to roll your windows down and have the heat/AC turned to fresh air to prevent exhaust gases from coming into the Jeep.

Yup, removing the spare for the short time to transport the tv will eliminate most of the stress on the gate.

+1. I wouldn't drive far with the gate open + spare on. That's a lot of highly leveraged stress.
