Default Automatic stalls when first put in gear

2013 JKU Auto. Having a random stalling issue on cold starts (first thing in AM). Jeep starts fine, no sign of funny idle or studder, drop into gear (reverse to back out of driveway) and it stalls. Starts again with sometimes a slightly longer crank (sometimes not) and runs fine from there on.

Any ideas??? Annoying issue. No CEL or other lights.

how long are you letting it sit after start up before you go into gear?

Not long, half a minute maybe? We are not talking extreme temps by any stretch.

Can you describe what it does when it dies? Does it jump like a manual when you dump the clutch? Or just turn off?

No, I do not have remote start.
Starts fine, put in gear with foot on brake and it quickly "spudders" out. Not like stalling a manual with clutch, more like running out of gas.
