I'm a big fan of the parking brake. I use it all of the time auto or manual tranny...its just what I was taught. I still cringe when I see someone park on a hill and slam it into park and watch the vehicle bounce on the parking gear or hear that pop when they take it out of park. It took a while but I finally convinced my wife to stop doing that to our vehicles. She's pretty good about it now.
