I bought some heat resistant flat black paint a couple of years ago for my Magnaflows on my Magnum. Somehow, I just couldn't bear to painted polished stainless steel. One of these days I'll get around to doing the Rubi's Flowmaster. Here's a before pic.
Hay dude, have you got some sound clips of that?

As far as the silver center thing, that comes on the '08 Sahara. I don't know what the deal is with that thing. I've noticed it on several brands of new SUV lately. Must be the "latest thing".

As for the muffler, I think it's poorly galvanized steel. Ours has 15K and heat discoloration at the tailpipe side just like post #25. Gotta do this soon.

Well just painted mine with flat black heat resistant Tremclad paint and wow! It looks fantastic! They should do that at the factory!

I think I will do this as well. I have painted aftermarket exhaust with the BBQ paint it works great. Many miles on it and still going strong. I never thought to do it to stock exhaust...

I think so. If I can't find them, I'll do some more and post them on Photobucket.

Default Took care of mine...

I painted my muffler this past weekend using the BBQ paint. It turned out great and looks much better.

Thanks for the posts on this topic.

Thanks for the info guys. I happened to be at a fireplace store today and they had 1200 degree fireplace paint. Now I know it''ll hold up.

Soon as I get a decent weather day here I'm going to do this.

Nice idea. I've had my JK for about a month, and the muffler is visibly starting to rust. I will attempt to remove the light rust and paint the muffler tomorrow (black), to prevent further rusting and to improve it's appearance.

I'm also disappointed with the number of other areas that show signs of rust...but they are metal...
