Anyone have PROOF?????

I get your question. Just ping DC they are realy pushing there support of the community, via online...
I really doubt the factory would ship synthetic oil, since it is more expensive and if they did I would think they would boast about it.
Just my .02 Your mileage may vary!

I'm about to do the 1st oil change. I've read all 5 million threads on the subject. Many of you claim that the JK comes with synthetic, or a synthetic blend from the factory. People on here say things like " I looked into it and.... bla ba bla", but never reveal their sources. I prefer to see the proof, rather than just believe what i'm being told. I just wanna stick with whatever the factory fill was. Sorry for yet another oil thread, just wanna know if anyone has the right answer AND their source of information. THANKS!
The source is your owners manual. It will tell you what kind of oil came in your Jeep, what kind to use when you change oil, what kind you can use and how much to put in.
It doesn't come synthetic by the way, but you can switch to it if you like.

You certainly don't want to hear any opinion that says you can use anything other than what the factory suggests.

What? Yeah thats why I posted asking a question, because I don't want to hear what anyone has to say. And if YOU read my question, I asked if anyone knew for sure what the factory fill was, and how they came across that information. I never asked for opinions about what COULD be used.

Don't mean to rag on ya... But you're making it a little too easy.
You start of by accusing people of just blabbing, and that you want proof... Of what? Oil. A lubricant?!
I think it would have been easier on you if you just simply ask if anyone knew what type is being put in the engine at the factory. Or if there was anyone on here that worked at the factory instead of accusing people of "blah, blah, blah".

You say that you're looking for proof of the type of oil... I mean you have to admit, that is pretty OCD-ish man. I mean, sheesh, you know the weight, you know what the factory recommends. Just put whatever the hell you want to put in it... Within limits of course.

yeah, I guess I am a little OCD. I just wanna keep the motor happy since I plan on mods, and i'm sure they'll find a way to screw me out of the lifetime warranty. I guess it's really not that important, so I just picked up some Valvoline dino. Thanks to all for the replies, and sorry once again for starting another oil thread!.....
