Any other "07"s need piston rings

I am feeling lucky. My '07 is approaching 100k miles, and it's one of the best-running, best-starting vehicles I've owned. No piston slap (like GM trucks), no ticks, and no lifter noise. My plugs came out at 89K looking better than any I've seen - no deposits, cardboard brown, and all uniform.
I use about a quart of oil every 2,500 miles. I run conventional oil at factory weight and change it every 4000-5000 miles.
I tried synthetic one change; had a bad ADB valve and I burned more oil.. Experimented with 5w30, and I could notice the extra load on the motor. Haven't gone back to either.
Anyway. Is there any info I could give you guys that may help track down issues? Build dates or anything like that?

Expensive oil Is OK to change less often.
It evens out.
I prefer better oil, and change it twice a year; usually ends up being about every 6,000 miles.

I personally think 4K is pretty reasonable for conventional. 5K may be ok if you are in a warm climate or during the summer months. Winters are harsh on motor oils, so I change around the 4k mark.

I have to wonder what a dedicated motor or speed shop would charge. I would think it would be cheaper than the dealer price. Plus, they may be able to squeak some more ponies out of the little tiller..
