Default Annoying Engine Noise VIDEO

Alright, progressively my jk has been making a horribly obnoxious whine out from under the hood. It seems to be located around the alternator but its so load that you can hear it coming down the street before you hear the cat-back exhaust so something wrong is definitely up....

any suggestions?

I'll post the youtube link....

as you can hear, as I accelerate it becomes even more annoying...

That sounds like air in the power steering system. Either it has a leak somewhere, or the pump is on the way out. Turn the wheel from side to side and see if the noise changes. If it does, it's the power steering for sure.

That sounds exactly like the problem I had a few weeks ago after playing in some mud:

I took it to the dealer and it turned out to be the idler pulley, they replaced it under warranty. I was so embarrassed to drive the Jeep around until I got it in there to be fixed...

I have found a mechanic's stethoscope to be very helpful in troubleshooting such noises.

for $18 you can get a new one from Napa and replace it yourself in 5min

I've also replaced my tensioner pulley too, the video on this link sounds like it could be that also...
