Default Annoying in-dash vibration at 2900 RPM

Been driving my 6-speed unlimited for a couple of months now. It has an incredibly annoying vibration coming from within the center of the dash whenever I'm accelerating up through 2900 RPM in any of my lower gears. It's not there at lower RPMs nor once I get to about 3200 RPM.

Any suggestions on where to start looking? I've tried pushing on various externals parts of the dash, but it seems to be coming from the interior.

I have had the compass underneath the center top panel of the dash vibrate before and it just tap the top panel and it stops.

I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and either take it to the dealer (still under warranty) or start disassembling the dash myself. Any tips other than start unscrewing anything remotely close to the dash in order to get in there? This is where a good service manual would come in handy...

I had a rattle in the center of the dash when going over bumps, in the winter time. When I turned on the heat, it would slowly disappear as the HVAC heated up.

I fixed it be popping the hood, locating the A/C hard lines where they go through the firewall, and gently pulling them to one side just enough so when I let go, they were in a slightly different position.

Noise gone; never returned.

I had a similar problem at one point. This thread discusses several possible causes and solutions:
