Actually the way Jeeps hold their resale value the hit isn't too bad. I traded my 2011 for $1600.00 difference and had only made 3 payments. Most of us that have traded our 11's for the 12's seem to be anywhere between 2-4 k hit. IMO it's worth it if you are keeping it and going to be paying on it 5-6 years.

Jeeps aren't a fuel dragster ?? What the heck. ??

You Sir haven't driven a 2012 JK with the auto and put the pedal to the metal

I'm sorry but my 2012 JKU freaken flies its funny because when it's wet or raining I have to be more careful or I'm spinning with the VES turning on

Shop shop shop around not only for your new JKU but a dealer willing to give you what you want or should get for your 11

My local dealer offered me $19,000 trade for my 2011 Sport 2 dr. 23 S and an ok deal on a Sahara but it didn't have the connectivity package

However the dealer in Bristol TN 4 hours away gave me a awesome deal on my 12 JKU Sport and $20,400 for my trade

I lost. $400 bucks

We wheeled and dealed over the phone and net and he even got me 2.4. % apr

Not to mention he delivered to my work and drive my trade back

No your not crazy

Life is short. Do it!
My son just sold his 2010 2 door sport with 27k miles on it for $25K. It had a 4” lift on 35”s. I think he got a great price for it.

I say get rid of the 11' and either get another 11' or even a 10' unlimited. Then do some research about some upgrades with good headers and air filters etc. Put some upgrades into it to give you the extra fuel economy that the 12' could give you (it's not much so I don't think you would have a problem trying to upgrade to the performance level of the 12') After all you've done, even though you might lose money (maybe you won't, you said you were prepared to do so though) you can say that your JK is more personal than ever before.:beer :

I've had my 2011 Rubi for 1 yr and 14k miles. I test drove a grand Cherokee with the bigger engine before I bought the rubi and didn't notice much difference in the power

Maybe I broke in my engine right, or I've just got used to the transmission cause now I'm getting plenty of power. It downshifts (auto) when it should. I have no complaints.

There is a recall to reprogram the ECM (some 02 sensor issue). Which I havent done yet. It might make the 2011 engine run even better. I don't know. Anybody else know?

I say, "DO IT." Heck your payment prob won't change that much and you would only be adding a year. By the way don't let the gas milage help make your decision. The gas milage difference between 07-11 and the 2012 isn't noticeable unless you leave it bone stock and drive like grandma going to the grocery store. With the exact same set up on my 2007 (with Hypertech) as I have on my 2012 (without programmer) I actually am getting about 2 mpg less. I just turn off the MPG screen display and ignore it.

In August, I bought a 2011 Mango Sport 2 door at a very nice price.
I love it, especially the color.
The only reason I would trade is if I wanted 4 doors and I don't. However, you say you do. So, go for it.
