Default Alot of loose plastic

I am a newbie. Just picked up my 08 JK and so far it has been great. However, I washed it for the first time and noticed that the fender wells are put in with Christmas Tree fasteners. They all seem to be loose. Is this normal? It seems to me that there should be a better way of fastening the tubs into the fenders. Any thoughts?

I just check them each time I wash the Jeep. You would think the factory would have used a better fastener.

You can buy new ones, and replace them. (fastners) I replaced them in the back.

Mines loose and beat up from tree's jumping in the way
