Mine had been doing the same. Just got letter from Chrysler Customer Assistance Center that the warranty on Wrangler's clockspring has been extended to 10 years or 150k. Also said if you paid for replacement of clock spring could be eligible for reimbursement.

I took my jk to the stealership yesterday at 8am. All they were to do was to see if in fact it was the clockspring. I was called at 10:30 and they had fixed it and I have not had any problems since so far. So if you are having problems and have the letter get it fixed. I forgot how nice it was without the light and dinging.

Mine just started going off today too when wheeling. Disconnected battery and reseated air bag sensor under drivers seat, still happening. At dealer now. Will update with result but I assume it's going to be a clock sprig

Also no codes came up on my superchip

Default Airbag ding

I have 2008 JKU, mine stared a week ago, no codes, horn and cruise work fine. There is a recall for this but it is so far limited to 2007 JKs, and Right Hand only 2008 JKs. It is beginning to bother and I don't want to spend 250 for a new clockspring if that isn't the problem. Any solutions out there yet?

Just got back from dealer and it was the clockspring. I believe I've read that the clockspring warranty was extended to 150k:5+ years

I'm having the same problem but i have racing harnesses. i was wondering if i should fix it or not. I dont know if an airbag+ harness would do more damage than not having an airbag.

Default Airbag Light - Clock Spring

Just got mine fixed after doing everything I could..... checked wires, harnesses.... nothing.
called Jeep and they ran my VIN and nothing...... looked online and saw 2007's had a recall and only RHD 2008's.
I filed a complaint with the NHTA....hopefully a recall will result if enough people complaint.
It is a common problem due to faulty clock spring
I want my $500 back!!!!
