Acceleration Sputter
09 Wrangler 2 Door Manual - 50k miles
I am trying to identify possible root causes for a acceleration sputter (before bringing it to the mechanic). Worst part about this problem is that it in not consistent and seems to go away once the engine warms up.
Symptoms:
- On acceleration, feel shaking in shifter
- after 3-5 seconds of shaking, there is a popping sound coming from engine (I think from the passenger side)
- Typically activates "engine malfunction" yellow alert
- Seems to occur more often in warmer climates

2009 unlimited sahara, started having this problem about 6 months ago, so around 40k miles. I've had it looked at by a mechanic, and it's throwing o2 sensor codes, even after he replaced them, so he figures it's the PCM. It should still be covered by warranty, i just haven't gotten around to actually bringing it to the dealership to see what they will do.
