Default 6Spd stalls when using clutch and no gas??

In my old Rubicon ('05), I could start out in first or reverse and not use the gas, no matter out steep the grade the Rubi would never stall.

This was great for rock crawling, as all I had to do was, drop in low, engage lockers and steer.

Even in 2H I noticed this feature. Now however I have an '07 2DR Rubi, and every time I try in 2H to start out in 1st or Reverse, it stalls? I have yet to attempt this in 4H or 4L, but someone please tell me if they have had any luck with this and if so what gear???

Thanks

I've been able to get it going without the gas today, you just have to feather the clutch a little bit. Reverse didn't seem to care if it was a hill or not, but 1st didn't seem to like it unless it was fairly flat.

The 05 rubicons had an anti stall program in the computerized idle speed.
There were some complaints and mishaps so they may have dropped it for 07

Do a search on jeep forums for "the lurch"

First time it happened to me, I hit my workbench in the garage
Lets just say I dont idle up the driveway anymore.

I tried shifting from park to drive this morning without touching the gas. No problem works all the time.

you can get it rolling in 2 hi with no gas, but only on a fairly flat surface. It's should be no problem in 4 lo.... even my lib renny can manage a steep incline over rocks with no gas in 1st or 2nd 4 lo...

Well ok you got me there. It's pretty rare for me to be in park with the vehicle moving, so
I don't consider it much of a hinderance.

Hey can you still start a jeep without the clutch depressed or have they "safed" that out of existance?

you need to depress the clutch to start in a manual jeep now... I heard somewhere that they were going to over ride that in 4-lo???
