Default 6 Speed in 2008 models???

My question is, do the 2008 6 speeds share the same problems as the 2007 6 speeds? Those problems ( that I had) were mainly related to a squeek/squealing sound from the tranny. Which was ultimately a very damaging thing going on inside my 07 Rubi. Now I'm hunting Jeeps again after getting rid of that one, and I'm finding mainly 6 speeds around here (as far as X package with Locker/sway bar).

So will be yet another mistake to buy a 6 speed? Or should I be on the lookout for an automatic trans?

Thanks in advance.

Mike

FWIW I have an 08 6 speed with 5,500 miles.

zero drive train issues; other than the common clutch clank, and I've lived with it. It's really not that bad.

The 2008s built thru the end of February (which is 4 months shy of the whole production year) are exactly the same as the 07s. Many have problems.

08 X 6 speed with almost 6,000 miles no problems so far ...but I have heard the rumors from others about 6 speeds as well as automatics....a friend of mine says it's cause of the engine swap they did to the 3.8 ...good luck
