Can you swap between the two? I've been running 5W-20 mobile one since it's readily available and was what the manual said to use, but if you can swap in between the two I might just move over to the 5W-30 for the added protection. Would this hurt my engine at all by doing this as long as I stay fully synthetic?

Synthetic here. I have always run it in all of my vehicles.

Doesnt matter one bit.... Do half an half, do all one type, do half dino hane syn its all the same just stay with 5w-20 or 30 an you are good to go. 5w 30 is the better option an would of been used in the states if it werent for CAFE standards.

Default 85,000 10-30 Royal Purple

2007 Rubi Unlimited-went to 10-30 Royal Purple, at 5k, for heat protection-installed One-Power cleanable oil filter a 5000k-change every 15k miles and clean filter every 5k-filter holds about a cup of oil ready for startup-immediate pressure, no startup rattle-uses about 1/4 cup oil per 1000 miles on highway-If the Queen of England demands 10-30 Royal Purple, I'll use it---Bob Wood

I use 10W30 Pennzoil dino, EXCELLENT oil. By the way, synthetic IS dino, with synthetically engineered same-sized molecules for supposed superior lubrication properties. I've never felt the need for a change, not that there's anything WRONG with it....

Well, I have used mobile 1 5w20 since about 6k with religious 3k oil changes and I am replacing my motor at under 60 k. I will not be using synthetic or 5w20 on the next engine. Probably be using any name brand 5w30 or 10w30. Use rotella 10w30 in my yz250 and it seems nice, might use that. I am pretty confident in saying regular oil changes are better than fancy oils.

I switched over to 5w-30 since my first oil change because 5w-20 was not available. It has been working fine for me so far.

Quick Reply: 5W-30 anyone?
