Default 5 Speed Auto

Got a 12 Rubi auto. Love everything about it accept for the tranny shift-points. Ive flashed(reset) the computer twice back to factory shift-points. Still shifts to 2nd to early. I'm to the point that now I'm shifting it manually. Does anyone think this is harmful in any way?

Not harmful but from what I've been told the ECM learns your driving habits
Drive it like you stole it for awhile and see if that helps

it will learn your habbit's, try the throttle response resetting:

1)with the motor off, turn key to on position (don't crank motor)

2)wait for the dash lights to go out (i think the lightning bolt stays on)

3)push the gas all the way to the floor and let off, only do it one time...now depending on how fast you push the gas petal to the floor and back up will make your throttle more or less aggressive.

4)turn key to off

5) turn key to on, and start engine

I tried this over the weekend and I could def feel it
I think you have to do it in under 40 seconds or something, you can get a better answer if you search it. bottom line, on step 3, slam the gas to the floor and back quickly. note that the JK's constantly learning, so everytime you don't drive aggressive it will revert back to less aggressive shifts.

until a tuner comes out, I believe this is about it for simple tweeks.

I will try this. But everyone drives like an old lady going light to light in town. But getting on the interstate you gotta drive like a NASCAR driver coming out of the pits so how does it learn the difference?

HAHA when I say "learn"... I don't mean it in a good way. just like the MPG calc, it works off averages which means it's using info to establish one type of driving. it can't differentiate city to highway to trail, so you can set the throttle fast and hammer on it all you want, but the next time you sit in traffic for 20 mins, it will start to revert back to driving miss Daisy.

Does this procedure reset the shift points or the throttle response?

Subscribed. I also feel like mine shifts to second to soon. Especially when going up a slight hill.

Have you talked to the dealer?

I believe it's just for throttle response, but I found it to hold gears longer.

X2, I would try the throttle reset first since it's easy and free, but it never hurts to ask the dealer if somethings seems off.
