4wd question and torque converter question

4wd question and torque converter question
This is my first 4wd vehicle, and the manual (as most realize) is clear as mud. Just for the record, I shift the transmission into regular Drive, then idle to roughly 3 mph, then while rolling, shift the 4wd lever into 4-low??
My second question involves the "rumble strip" shudder. My dealer pretty much believes that there is no problem unless there is a recall posted, or a check engine light comes on. Since the TSB for the torque converter states that it is an intermittent problem and cannot be duplicated, how can I get these guys to follow through?
Where can I find the TSB info that lists the models it applies to?
I have about 8k, and the problem has been around for a few months. Just a brief vibration, physical and audible shudder at idle speeds after the vehicle has been parked for a while. Then a sluggish start... until the vehicle warms up and I walk the speedometer up to normal driving speeds.

The rumble is the TC fix... https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/stock-jk-tech-12/tsb-recall-information-2366/
print it out and take it to them... my rig was in the shop for 3 days as they had to replace the TC...
when shifting to 4wd... you can shift at any speed into 4 high... i shift into Neutral while i am rolling and shift into four low..... the just pop back into drive and your off... no grind... no shake... smooth as silk!

Thanks for the fast response.
So I put the Transmission into Drive, roll a bit, shift to neutral, then engage the 4-low. Then shift the transmission back to drive?
As far as the TSB, where does the info come from? In other words, I brought aa print out from this site to my dealer, and he still would not help me.
He pretty much said I would have to wait until the problem got worse
Once the TSB is released, is my dealer REQUIRED to do the fix?

You dont need to shift to drive before you shift to neutral the only reason you would do that is if your on a level surface. The only think u need to do is have the car rolling forward around 2-3mph in neutral then just pop it into 4wd-lo. Then you can put the transmission into Drive. If you feel grinding when going into 4-lo your probably going tooo fast.

on one hand... you could raise a big stink (get loud... if that doesnt help... drop the f-bomb so everyone can hear you... that usually works always)... but then you just pissed someone off that will have possession of your vehicle and be out of your sight.
on the other hand... if they say no and you say okay... then you just have to find another dealership.

TSB's are not recalls, so no the dealer is not required to fix. TSB's are for the purpose of informing dealers of specific problems, their causes, and their fixes.
It should go like this:
You walk into your local Jeep dealer, say "My Jeep shudder's on teh freeway"
They look in their big book of TSB's and say "Oh, it must be this one"
They then fix your Jeep and send you on your way.
But warrantee work is basically customer service, so if they don't feel like it, then you can't make them, and why would you really want to? They suck, go to a different dealer. When you get there, complain loudly about the last dealer and how they sucked, and why they sucked. I bet the new dealer will be alot more acomodating
