Default 4wd light wont go off

Anyone have a clue how to get the 4wd light off when you not in 4 wheel? I was wheeling and after I put it back in 2wd the light never turned off???? I do know that I Am out of 4Wd. (gearing) that's for sure. Just worried that the computer is thinking I am and messing up my shift points????? Any info will be greatly appreciated....

has it stayed on permanently? or does it just do it sometimes when you shift from 4hi to 2wd? mine does the same thing but if i just put it back in 4hi and back to 2wd it goes off...seems to be an issue with how smoothly the transfer case shifts

Try disconnecting the battery for a few min. Sometimes the computer gets a bit funny and it will reset...

It hasn't gone off in 4 days. I disconnected the battery but maybe about 30 seconds. I'll try re shifting and DC the battery for about 10 min and see if that helps.

My dodge use to do this at times and I just had to keep messing with it. Try shifting it in and out of 4W while moving and also while at a stop...

Trans in neutral
Shift TC into 4 lo
Trans in reverse
Back up a full jeep length
Trans in neutral
Shift TC into 2wd (light should go out now)
Trans in reverse
Back up a full jeep length
If that doesn't do it start looking at the switch and wiring

I'll try that and see what goes on. DC the battery for an hour....After that It will be time to break out the creepy crawly and start removing parts. Look babe I found what was wrong...It just needed an Atlas Transfer case! I wish!!! Could have planted a money tree but NOOOOOO the wife had to have a lemon tree.
