Default 3.21 axle ratio

My Jeep build sheet shows 3.21 axle ratio. And Dana 44 rear axle.
What will I experience when I go to 33's?

I have 3.21 factory with the 32" Wrangler SRA's. I bought a set of Rubicon KM take offs which are also 32" and just the heavier tires really dogged me down ... getting all the parts together and will be going 4.10 ...

lets see...if your a 6-speed and live in hilly terrain you will find that you will most likely never use 6th gear again....if your an automtic your transmission is going to be constantly shifting to keep up, hence OD will be useless....
basically, it's going to become more of a slug than what it is already...

I lived with my 6speed, 3.21's and 33's for about 6 months before I got my 4.10's in, you can do it, it's totally manageable providing your aware of this...but your most likely gonna wish you had better gearing.

Didn't see your transmission or stock tire size listed, but check the chart in the Axles/Gears/Drivetrain FAQ to get an idea of just how much rpm you'll be losing.

Ive just gone 33" tires with 3.21's on a 6spd and it is ok, my area is totally flat roads though, I havent had it offroad yet either. once I can afford to get new gears I will be for sure, most probably 4.88. for now its alright though, just got to rev it a little more.

are there any issues with parts breaking with the dana 44 / 3.21 gears due to the extra weight/stress on the drivetrain?

Heeeeeeeeellllllllll no...have you seen the size of a 3.21 pinion head? It's HUGE! These gears are monstrous, your not gonna break anything with 33's and 3.21's....40's and 5.38's, now you can worry about breakage

take a look at this...that's a 3.21 on the left and a 4.10 on the right
