This sucks. I was hoping I was isolated case but right now it's looking like a 50/50 thing for those who've responded. At least mine gave while still under warranty. I was considering mounting C Gussets but now I'm concerned I might cause damage to the factory ball joints when I go to have it welded. Argh.

The instuctions from EVO tell you to remove the ball joints before you do any welding. I didn't though, I took my time and alternated.

Had I welding skills I could probably do the same. But I'm going to have to have someone weld this on for me.

Bummer about the ball-joints Skippman. I don't have that many miles on mine but I am going to take the shot of having the C gussets welded on while they are on the Jeep. Like MikesJK said if you can keep them cool and alternate you might have good shot. May want to talk to Axleboy.

I asked him about it and it was going to be about $400 all said and done with. $300 in labor, $80 in parts for the Or-Fabs, and then taxes. I was considering getting the gussets on my own then seeing if Grant/Jackelope would do the work but I don't know if he's any good with that kind of welding.

Thats one af the issues I had, Pay up or D.I.Y. I have a 110v mig, but I know it wont do the job and I don't trust myself, so Axleboy is doing mine this week while its getting gears. I think Dedduc was looking to get some C's installed, I wonder who he used? Its just too bad the factory ones are crap.
