Does your 2015 steering wheel lock with the ignition key out for being towed?

 

Good timing on this question. A week and a half ago, I traded in my extrememly problematic 2013 on a new 2014 Rubicon. On my new one , the steering column does not lock when you take the key out. I am almost positive that my 2013 did lock the column. Really hoping that is supposed to be this way as I would not be thrilled to have something broken already.

Can someone chime in?

Just checked on my 14 Rubi...steering wheel does NOT lock with the key removed.

 

the last JK that I had with steering wheel lock was my 08..

my 10 didnt have it (automatic shift) and my 13 does not have it (manual shift).

My 2015 does not lock either. I thought it was weird but just continued about my day.

 

I thought they took out the wheel lock on the 07 to 08 transition.

My 08 did not lock and my current 12 does not lock. A guy in the club with an 07 has his steering lock with no key though.

 

11' JK and 13' JKUR both manual and neither have a column lock.

 

My 12 doesn't lock. I don't believe any after 2008 have locking columns...

 

Your 15 doesn't have one. It was discontinued part way through the 09 production run. There was no set vin or production date when it was discontinued.
