Default 2014 vs. 2015 Rubi

My local Dealership has a 2014 JKU with all the options I want with $3100 off sticker since they are trying to move it quick. So I am looking for opinions. 3K savings is nice but is it worth it? Should I not worry about the savings and get the newer model?

What would other jeep lovers do?

Thanks for your comments!

I don't think there are enough differences to warrant going with the 2015 over the 2014 personally. Save the 3k and spend it on some goodies you're going to want after you get it home.

I would either

A. Buy the 14 and save the money. Also, I think that there has been a couple changes in the stereo setup in the 15 that I don't really like. I think they did away with the tombstone tweeters on the dash, which I'd be fine with but what I don't like is that they put the subwoofer in the floor in the back end making it more prone to water and dirt and taking away space where I keep tools.

B. Wait one more year for the chance that they actually put a diesel in the 2016 JK. If that thought excites you, then wait. If not, get the 14.

I have a 14 rubicon my buddy has a 15 rubicon. Very minor but I like how they did the tweeters and the sub woofer in the 15's altho I do use the space that the new sub woofer takes up for storing crap. Given a choice I would give the space up tho.

$3100 off for a rubicon doesn't sound that good for a 2014. The dealers want to get rid of these to make room for the 2015. Sounds like they are giving you factory invoice or close to it. I just ordered a 2015 and got more than that off the sticker (few % below invoice).

The new 2015 alpine stereo is significantly crisper in sound. Otherwise no difference worth the money.

I have a 2015 and haven't had any issues with the sub in the floor but it does make for an interesting time loading things in the back without blocking it off or worrying about it. Either way you're gonna be happy with it.

Hmm, I got over 3k off sticker on my 15 JKUR. I would check with some other dealers. Obviously, resale value is diminished on a 14 anyways.

I bought my '14 JKUR in December of 2013 for $5k less than sticker. You should be able to negotiate a way better deal considering the '14 is the outgoing model year.

I had the 2014 and traded it for the 2015 hard rock aka X long story for my reasons, i love the front tweeter change i do not like the sub being in the middle of the trunk as i have a dog and have yet to put him in the back.

The sound of the system tho is AWESOME!!!!! Way better then what was in my 2014

One thing is my insurance went up use to be 261 for 2 cars full coverage now I'm at 312 a month for both cars

And of course my payment is higher cuz i had 12k on my 2014 that got added to my 2015

Ditto, i got almost $5K off sticker for my 2014 back in March. I would take the 14' and negotiate it down to as close to dealer invoice as possible. I'd recommend you use the USAA car buying service if you have access to it. Costco and ThreadLightly also have discount programs. In addition, your trade-in Jeep is very negotiable, take it to CarMax and get a quote from them to see how much they will give you for your Jeep and use that to negotiate at the dealership.

Regarding the Diesel, lets just say I have been waiting for the rumored diesel since 2008... Oh, also it will probably be a $10k option, putting the Rubicon in the $50k range.
