2013 jku 6-speed rattling noise poll
#52
another bad 6 speed
count me in,
started with 200 miles on the car, getting progressively worse, now with 2900 miles.
Noise = when the car warms up, rattles from 2500-3,000 RPM in 2nd and 3rd.
Brought it back to the dealer, they immediately heard it, had it scheduled for a Chrysler tech to visit and hear It, he heard it...
Their solution= replace entire tranny. They are going to test another new car on the lot, find one that is silent, and swap out mine for that one.
This works for me, they have also told me that if they cant resolve it, they will offer me a similar optioned auto. I really don't want an auto so I'm hoping that this fixes it...

My 2012 had the rattle since a couple of weeks after it was new. Same sound as in the videos above, same temporary fix (putting forward pressure on t-case lever). I pulled off the shift knobs, took apart the console, drove around with just the stick coming through the floor. No noise. I tightened all the pressure fittings in the boot and the surrounding clips, put the plastics back together, and then I put some latex glove fingers cut short over the ends of the t-case lever and shift lever, and seated the knobs on there real tight, for a real snug fit.
It hasn't rattled since then.

The rattle you're speaking of is probably more related to clutch components or something rattling against the transmission when the vehicle is idling.

2014 6 MT with 28xx ish miles on the clock. No rattles yet but my 4th gear synchro is crap. works better once all is warmed up, but cold mornings cold tranny, it has a tendency to either lock out 4th completely (shift into what should be 4th, let of clutch, grind grind grind) or sometimes it will half engage and as I come off the clutch it throws it out of 4th.
