2012 Rubicon Gear Ratio
When working out the deal for my jeep, I was adamant about it having 4.10 gears, and I was told that it does, I just can't seem to find it in writing. Yes, I checked my build sheet, but it doesn't specify, wondering if there is another way to find out before I have to check manually.

Take your VIN number to the dealer Pull up the build sheet If it does not say 410 you don't have a 410 but it will tell what you do have. Any dealer.good luck

My understanding is that if you have a Rubicon with a manual transmission, you have 4.10 by default. If you have the auto, you get 3.73 by default unless you order 4.10. Or at least that's what I've read in other threads. I have an auto w/3.73.

Went through this with my Rubi with a manual. The rubi manual will give you 4:1 in the transfer case but not in the diffs. You have to get a build sheet to know for sure. Dealers will talk up 4.10 this and that but they are selling you transmission data not necessarily diffs. I have a 2012. From what I understand is the default build is 3.73 in front and rear diffs. Now if you get max tow package you get 3.73 unless you pay $50 and get them back to 4.10. In any case build sheet should tell you, mine did.

Rubi manual comes with 4:10 gears. Auto has 3.73 unless you order 4.10 gears or that option was selected when it was built. The window sticker would have them listed on the options.

That's crazy I knew you could get 3:73's but I thought you had to specify for it and did not realize an auto came that way automatically. I'd be pissed if I didn't know that and got stuck with the 3:73's. A ruby should have 4:10's with the option of 3:73's IMO.
