2012 JKU Sport Radio Upgrade Question
Hi all,
I have the bare bones stock radio (no uconnect button) in my 2012 JKU Sport. A friend is giving me his 2012 OEM radio from his 2012 Jeep Cherokee (he upgraded). This one has the uconnect buttons on the front. What additional equipment would I need to make this radio work in my JKU?
Thanks!

You have to install a mic and u connect module to get that option to work.
But to get the actual radio to work its a simple plug and play however the bus system. The grand Cherokee if I'm correct are low speed bus so I am not sure how the bus system affects the 130RES radios

You may need a security code to get it to work. It has to do with theft provention. A dealer may know more on how to unlock it. A tech told me 1234 but it didn't work for mine. Once I started the Jeep it unlocked itself, but it came with mine new.

To get the security code the original owner of the GC has to have the dealer call with the vin# to some radio place and they will give them the code. Beware they may charge you or not.
