2012 JKU no heat at 70k miles
I've read plenty on the well-documented heater core issue with 2012s and issues with no/limited heat occurring with even as low as 15-20k miles. I've owned my 2012 JKU Rubicon since new and have never had any issues with the heat. It just started this week with 70k miles. Is it possible/likely that it may be something else besides the heater core problem since I've never had any issues for 5 years I've had it?
Thanks

dealership just did a computer flash/update on mine for HVAC, not that I was having issues but they did it anyways, it was something about the blower motor not functioning properly and loss of heat

It might also be your blend door actuator. If I recall from previous Googling, a broke actuator would prevent heat. Here's a video I made when I replaced mine (at 44,000 miles) because it was making noises.

I had a similar problem with my 2012 but happened at 80K. Lost heat on drivers side first, then it would just blow air. I ended up having the heater core replaced. I figured I'd go all out instead of trying to fix and replace other things. It was $1,100, but when it went out in early December...in Michigan, that was a small price to pay for heat.

fixed
i also read about all the fixes for heat...
does your heat still blow hot as blazes on the passenger side 2 vents?
if so, this is what I did, and it worked!
I had no heat on drivers side, feet, defrost, vents...nothing.
I disconnected both heater core hoses closest to the firewall.
I used air to blow out the heater core.
I used a funnel to put in 1 quart of CLR, and left in in for 1 hour.
I used 5 gallons of water each way to wash out the heater core.
Heat back on, and can't even hold my hand up to the vent...like it was.
I tried this because I personally would trade my 2014 with 100,000 miles on it, before I had a stealership replace the core.
This was the cheapest and easiest thing to try, before going more aggressive (= more$)
hope it helps
