Have 2011 automatic rubi. Just over 10k miles, started hearing rattling noise after 20+ min driving. subtle at first, becoming slightly louder. at first seemed to only rattle on acceleration. noise is more continuous now, seems to be getting louder. almost like coming from under the mygig. stealership states they heard rattling and that it was spark knock or something, that it was bad gas and that they couldnt hear the second time they drove at all. going to drive this weekend until it gets bad and returning it to them until they fix.

I had an odd noise with mine, I have an auto though, I thought it was my transmission. Ended up my ring and pinion needed replaced at 1800 miles. They replaced the rear diff, gave me a rental car, and it was complete in 2 days. The throwout bearing issues is why I got the not so great auto in my 2011.

Is it at all similar sound to what's going on in these two threads.... I have a noise in the transmission issue, but so far this thread as only said, "sounds like a throw out bearing is going bad"--- what does said noise sound like?

Have 2600km on it now, 2nd gear started grinding, went below 70 degrees for the first time two nights ago, now 2nd gear whines like it's straight cut, and the clutch doesn't engage until the pedal is almost all the way out. Have to make an appointment to bring it in, but not looking forward to fighting for a loaner.

The sound may not be a throw out bearing which chudders while pushing in on the clutch, my noise is constant while in gear, out of gear as long as the clutch is let out. It sounds like a really big cricket is riding in my tranny and singing its heart out.
The update is that I called the dealership where I bought it and off course they declined to give a loaner or rental (my jeep is 6 weeks old and less than 2000 miles on it) so after a call to Jeep HQ they did their thing and its in the shop and a rental sits in my driveway. The bad is that when I took it in the svc tech at the desk asks what the problem is, so I start it up and he hears, looks at me and tells me thats normal. I then look at him like cows are flying around and tell him that I have owned other jeeps and other manual tranny vehicles and that this is not "normal". He then tells me that he would want the tech to check it out before he says that????????
The tech that is handling my issue tells me something along the same lines and that there is a TSB out on noisy transmissions, but they will have a specialist look at it.
Now I know many of you as well as many of the jeeps that I test drove or have sat next to in traffic do not have the same issue, tomorrow will tell more and determine if I post the name of the dealer and a warning to stay clear of their service dept.
Wish me luck

Well, I got my baby back today and the verdict was that they needed to lube the slave cylinder. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuut guess what? The sound came back 5 miles from the dealership. Time to do some research on the tranny and wait for them to call me back.

Fingers are crossed for you dude. Sickening that we purchase such nice vehicle only to find out GM forgot how to make a JEEP the way there supposed to be. They are gettin ready to take the entire dash out of mine to try and find out what making noise in there. I can only hope once back on that there is not a new noise because a bolt got lossed.

Only problems i had with mine was related to the shifter boots were too stiff causing it to pop out of 4th gear when it was around 10C or colder.
Had the dealership perform a TSB for the shifter boots and all is good again. I imagine if it was left too long it could have caused transmission problems.
I am pushing 7,000kms on mine after about 2.5 months of ownership

There's a TSB for that? I had that problem with 4th and 2nd but it would just pop out if the clutch was pushed in. I would hold in place until I got the clutch out. I was hoping once it got broke in it would stop and it has been good now (but the weather is warmer). I hope it doesn't come back. Do you have any more info on that TSB?
I am also waiting to see if the problem will come back in the fall, but the replacement exterior boot even felt thinner than the original one so I hoped it fixed the problem.
