2010 Starting issue.
I tried to search and didnt find anything specific. The following issue has happened 2x.
Crank Jeep and it runs for about 10 seconds and then dies.
Try to crank and it wont turn over.
Turn key off.
Try to crank and it wont turn over and starter gets "stuck" till key is turned all the way off.
Turn key off.
Try to crank and it cranks for a second or two.
Try to crank several more times.
Finally cranks and runs normal.
I have had the Jeep for a couple months. This has happened 2x at least a couple weeks apart. Weather was different, plenty of gas, etc.....
Thoughts?

Grumpy,
The same thing was happening to me in my 2010 rubi, It did it for a couple weeks and disappeared a couple days before it was going to the dealer to get fixed.
Other things are happening and maybe related:
1. after shutting off the engine, turn the radio on then off and the battery is dead by morning.
2. the clock looses 5+ minutes per month
3. milage has dropped to 11-12 mpg (per dash indicator)
4. oil change reminder comes on prematurely
5. sequence for shutting of oil change light caused a no start for 20 minutes
The dealer has contacted me to get some recalls done, I'm dropping it off on monday... I have my fingers crossed.

Sounds to me like an issue with the chip in your key. The dealer told me there is a chip in the key and if its not there (aftermarket key) the JK will only run for a little bit then shut off. When you try to restart it again with no chip it goes into a protective mode. Just a thought.
