Default 2010/11 are they using oil?

I was wanting to know if the 3.8 engines in the 2010 and 2011 are using or burning oil? Are they having a problem with the main bearings and other parts? I know that the first few years, 2007 and 08 had this problem. Looking to buy a new 2011 JK or may wait to see the out come of the 2012.

I got my 2010 sahara unlimited in may and have put 35000 kms with no oil loss or burning between changes. And have averaged 23mpg very happy with my purchase.

That issue has been solved. Maybe a rare case or two. For the most part, use the recommended oil and change it on a frequent basis, and you should be fine.
I hear that the new Penta Star motor will arrive in the Jeeps in 2012/2013. Increase in HP by @ 82-85 pony's.

Thanks, I really don't care if I wait or not on the 82-85 horses. I just want a reliable Jku that will make a dd and some weekend fun. If want to fly, I just have to get my motorcycle out and go.

Not to be offensive at all, but have you ever driven a JKU? Especially gone off roading with one? The engine leaves MUCH to be desired, and an extra 82-85 ponies will make a HUGE difference!

I just have test drove one. When I go off road, I drive a 1983 CJ7 with 1997 Chevy 5.7 votec with a hop up 700r trans in front of a dana 300 with 4 to 1 gears.
I have a off road rig that works.
