Upon hearing the Manual is finally available, I contacted the dealer where we purchased the Jeep originally. At that time we made arrangements to purchase a Factory Service Manual whenever it became available. The dealer assured me we still have a standing order for it. He called and was told it will be coming.................in 4 weeks............and we are near the top of the list to get one. Ouch! I guess it won't be here before we leave for Moab. Good news, it will be here after we get back from Moab............just in case we need it.

Default 08 Jeep Manuals Available

I spoke with a parts man at a Jeep dealership today and the Jeep Wrangler manual for the 08 vehicles are finally available. Not sure what the price will be but the paper version is around $300.00. Or at least that is what I was told. The Cd is quit a bit cheaper they say.

By the word "manual" I assume you are referring to the Factory Service Manual? This is direct from the Jeep web site: 2008 WRANGLER (JK) SERVICE MANUAL
$320.00
2008 WRANGLER (JK) SERVICE MANUAL ON CD
$120.00

We've had the paper version on order since we got our Rubi in September. I checked with our dealer yesterday and he said our order is still standing. He called the Jeep people and was told we could expect our manual in about 4 weeks. The CD version is available now.

We want the book so we can use it off road. I also worry about the CD getting scratched if we carry it in the Jeep off road, and that also means we would have to take along the laptop which would be subjected to dust, etc. I think the paper version is better for our needs. Some have suggested we just get the CD and print what we need. Hummm..........what will we need? Who knows.

Don’t know about the paper version, but ordered the FSM CD a couple of days ago and they informed me it was to be shipped today.

I don’t have/want a computer in my garage, so on my home computer I use the search feature to find all of the appropriate pages for the job, print out the pages, write all over ‘em, get them dirty, finish the job, throw ‘em away.

I do miss paging through the big thick manual, but I can always buy a ream of paper and print out a full copy.
