When we bought our Rubi in September we paid for a Service Manual but no sign of it yet. We really want a hard copy (paper version) rather than a CD so we can take it along while off-roading. Has anyone gotten one yet or heard when they might be available?

what do you mean like a chiltons or hayden book? that would be awesome! then i really can do everthing and not have to take it to the dealer.

my dads shop might be getting rid of the ALLDATA program and going to mitchell so maybe i can snag it up and get updates for it?

 

No. I think he means the Factory Service Manual.
I am not encouraged by what he said. I have one on order since about 6 weeks ago. His has been on order since September No hope for me, then.

 

Yes, it is the Factory Service Manual that is wanted.

 

The paper version of the FSM has been available via the jeep.com web site for a month or so now (For Owners, Owner/Service Manuals, Go (Service Manual), Service Manuals (Pick) 2008 Service Manuals - Find, “Next 10 Results” until you see the “2008 Wrangler (JK) Service Manual”.

BTW - they just added the CD version of the manual - which I just ordered! If you want to carry around the manual you can always print out the CD.

 

Thank you so much! I've been waiting a long time and I am so glad it is finally available. We are planning a trip to Moab soon and will finally be able to check out our Rubi to see what it can do.

 

I called the 800 number and asked why they take so long. The rep said yes, they are available for printing. That doesn't mean they are available for shipping, though. And by the way, ordering from the site or through the dealer makes no difference in how long it takes, according to the rep at the site.

 

I asked my dealer to trace my order through the Chrysler Pubs people. The answer they got back was: "The book is on back order".
I then called 1-800-890-4038 and ordered a CD. They said the CD's are available to ship. It will arrive within a week.

 

Do you mean the regular "paper" manual that usually comes with a vehicle? If so I purchased a 08 in Oct. and it came with the manual. I'd try to get the dealer to give you one.
