Well I have a spun bearing at 98,100 miles. I was wondering I can't really afford a replacement seeing that they are like 2 to 3 grand and hard to find for less could I put something else in it? I am not worried about emissions, I have about 1100 bucks due to being a poor college student does the town and country motor fit? I have seen some with the 8th digit as a 1 but not sure. I have replaced a couple motors in my time but have been able to find a motor reasonably priced I have need been in this type of situation before. Any help would be great.

Sounds like you have the skills and money, why not rebuild it? Sorry to hear this. I worry about my 3.8 for sure!

Well I am hoping the rebuild will be a go but was looking at a faster option.

Post here if you find out the town and country motor fits. If it's the same 3.8 block, it fits. Would just need parts switched over.

According to this, they are the same except for some tuning, which would just be in the computer module.

If you read through all that mess, it says they added some bosses to the block to allow for the engine mounting, so not the same block.
