Question 2 DR front seat(s) FOLD & TUMBLE

am I missing something?

looked at a 2 dr rubi and the front pasenger seat would not fold and tumble like on my TJ, I thought it was because of the side air bags , but this one did not have them, I have not been able to find info on brochure or jeeponline

its a pain getting to the back seat if the top is up

Simple answer: It doesnt. the back of the seat only flips forward and then the whole thing slides ahead.

It does make it a PITA to get into the back. I wish it did fold & tumble.

PITA not just for back seat pasg. but for getting to tools, cooler, etc

so funny you should mention this, a saleman from my local dealership was showing me a 2 door and i noticed then that fold & tumble was gone... he proceeded to climb into the back to show me "how easy an adult can still get into the back seats". took him 2 solid minutes and help from another saleman to shove him in! it'll be a hard sell to people w/ kids.

I test drove the 2-door last night and I am now pretty much convinced I need the 4-door... simply because of the rear seat entry... it's just horrible.

It was so they could use the same seats in the four door as the two door. They wouldn't use the fold and tumble seats in the four door and I'm assuming for cost reasons, they made the decision to not continue it for just the two door.

...it is kinda funny to see the fat-arsed mom-in-law try to get herself squeezed in there though...

I was disappointed about the seat at first, but i decided to just get rid of the ba seat to solve the problem. Plus it gives me more room for the dog and gear.

If you look under the front passenger seat, there are some electronics, and tons of wires. Front Air bag sensors, side air bags, maybe something else. Maybe they didn't want it to get stepped on.
