Default 07 JKU - Brake Line Warranty - Be Aware!

My PSA for the day. I discovered the brake line that leads down to the hub on my newly acquired 07 Rubicon JKU was corroded to the point that upon just touching it it crumbled and my newly replaced brake fluid ran all over the garage floor. Called the dealer, as I've only had jeep two weeks. They picked it up and fixed same day. Stated that this is a KNOWN ISSUE and Jeep warranty exists for this work. They also stated that the brake lines are to short, hence the need to fix.

Angry 2008 Rubicon Brake Lines

I had the same issue with my 2008 JK. Pulled up to a stop sign and the pedal went to the floor! I took it home and found that the front brake line had corroded apart as yours did. Checked the drivers side brake line and it came apart when I tugged on it. NAPA said they sale a lot of these when I purchased my new ones.

Had to replace mine along with some work to replace a siezed caliper recently. Got the letter from CDJ and submitted for the refund. Got the check a few weeks ago. I have to admit that it was easier than I expected. Did the submission on line which was easier.

If you do it, just be aware that they will call you after you submit the request but before they issue the check. I thought it was a scam call but they didn't ask for any info other than to confirm that I submitted the request. Then they told me how much it would be for and when to expect the check.
