the placard says to inflate to 35 psi, my tires are at 33 psi, which is how they were delivered to me. I need to inflate to 35? that seems really high for these tires.

The tire pressure (including the spare) has to be at placard pressure in order for the auto-learn process to work. After it has recognized the new sensors you can adjust the pressure to your liking.

I raised the tire pressure to 35.2 in all 5 ties (placard says 35 psi) and drove for about 40 miles yesterday. The light is still on on my dash. Are you sure the 2012 sensors are the same frequency as the 11's? They should have auto learned by now.

I have had my MB72's with 35" KM2s for about a month now. Thanks for the awesome price and wicked fast shipping!
