They may have made go arounds now but back then some of the really bad stuff didn't have any short cuts so you really had to watch the trail rating. I had a 3" Rusty's lift, 32" BFG AT's, winch and pretty much stock other than that on the TJ.. didn't have much problems. But I didn't push the 6 ft drop offs, boulders, and really bad stuff either. Really a fun place to ride. Some cabins you can rent just out the south gate for a good weekend away.
It is a fantastic place to ride! If I understand this correctly, your TJ mods would have gotten you into roughly the same configuration as many of the stock JKs. I was really surprised at the number of stock JKs I saw running around up there, and not just on the easy rated trails. You'd hear someone rub the on the slide plate occasionally (crossing over the mud water break humps in the trail), but no horrific crunching, grinding, snapping, etc. that I could tell.

That was succinctly put. Please don't make me start taunting.

By the way, I think a bunch of us want to go back again before Tellico closes for the Winter so this could be another chance for some great trail riding.

Squeezing by RotorHead's group:

08{GA}Rubicon leads the way:

Rubi wheels, but no lift and only the occasional rub:

Lots of rhododendron:

Crawling with stock tires:

These guys went up Trail 6 (moderate) and were heading down Trail 4 when we meet up with them at Fain's Ford. Both JKs are stock:

Just for fun:

07JKX was only running 12lbs of air (note the rear tire on that boulder). Most of the others were running around 18lbs:

Winding up the trail:

No lift, but nice bumper:

Stock tires still on this Sahara:

How will we know unless one of these years we all get together on a trail somewhere?

Those are some great pix Gary. I certainly regret staying home from that trip. From the pix, the trails don't look much harder than Mountainside. I would love to go next time.

Thanks. I know you would have had a blast. Hopefully it won't be too long before they head back up there.

Yep, those would be the same Mickey Thompson ATZ's that I have. Looks like they might be a little bigger though.
