Ok I'll admit it...Based on those pictures, I'm scared to wheel with you! The last two look nasty!

I've been looking at cb's for awhile.....handheld / cab mount....legal / illegal power rating....ugh. Almost as bad as shopping for tires. Any suggestions on a good CB / Antenna for off-road use only???? And I have tow hooks up front and a tow hitch in the back.

I've never been up to coal creek...hell, the most "extreme" 4 wheeling I've done was up at Amicalola last weekend...haha. Had no issues at all but hey, I'm just gettin started.

Default Upper Section of T15

Researching trails, and found this pic of another silver Rubi tackling the upper section of trail 15. Looks somewhat familiar, huh?

you can get a basic cobra from walmart for 30 bucks that will work just fine. Put on some coax and invest in a good antenna and your good to go. As far as power, if you are planning only offroad use, then dont worry about amping it up. You will have all you need for the trails

My wife and I are planning on coming up friday night or saturday morning. We might be taking a 1/2 off work to get there firday since it is a 3 hour drive but it depends on her work schedule. I will have a cb installed by this time but will still be a mean stock rubicon. The first major mod on my list is to pay it off and get my title back from the bank!

Why stock driveshafts, I thought you got the driveshafts with the kit?

Just follow ckivy . . . he just got new drive shafts recently, and probably doesn't want to have to replace them from "rough housing" on the trails this trip.

But then again, I could be wrong.

Edit: You could also just follow me. I dither back and forth from being the trail canary to the trail chicken if the going starts to look tough.
