2nd Annual Anza Borrego Newbie Run: October 25th
#382
I think you could head out early enough and be to Borrego Springs in like 2 hours or so. But it is still 2 1/2 hours to Lake Forest from there. Traveling solo or with only a couple Jeeps and no picture taking, geocaching, etc. you could get out fairly quickly.
Going in with 30 some Jeeps, there is a lot of mingling, picture taking, going on so it is a little slower but still a lot of fun. It really is the ultimate trip for new Jeepers and ones that enjoy camping and getting to know people.

I was thinking of trying the ole steak, potatoes and vegetables wrapped in tin foil and thrown into the campfire coals. Cooked that up in boy scouts when I was a kid and it was pretty good. Cant remember how long I had to leave it in there though..........Plus I'll have to keep my eye on it so some little kid doesn't beat it or poke it to death with a stick or something!
