Would it be possible to leave camp on Sunday morning, and be back in the OC by noonish?

I think you could head out early enough and be to Borrego Springs in like 2 hours or so. But it is still 2 1/2 hours to Lake Forest from there. Traveling solo or with only a couple Jeeps and no picture taking, geocaching, etc. you could get out fairly quickly.

Going in with 30 some Jeeps, there is a lot of mingling, picture taking, going on so it is a little slower but still a lot of fun. It really is the ultimate trip for new Jeepers and ones that enjoy camping and getting to know people.

If we were to get up at 7 or so, and hit the trail by 8. maybe a little earlier... I figure 2 1/2 hours Home once we hit the pavement.

we've got a camp stove too, just like the grilled stuff in the wild.
I was thinking of trying the ole steak, potatoes and vegetables wrapped in tin foil and thrown into the campfire coals. Cooked that up in boy scouts when I was a kid and it was pretty good. Cant remember how long I had to leave it in there though..........Plus I'll have to keep my eye on it so some little kid doesn't beat it or poke it to death with a stick or something!

We cooked in tin foil in calico, that would work with the kabobstuf...

nothing against propane... (reminder to get WOOD)
