Before sanding off all the rust, it didn't look too bad. But after sanding away all the rust I had realized that the previous owner had sealed off the drainage for this spot so sitting water had rusted out it from the inside. It left a hole in the side and a large opening on the bottom. I filled it with an poly-carbonate reinforced fiberglass resin, sanded/shaped it, primed, and painted it. It is barely noticeable anymore and I'm pretty proud of how it turned out.
