Sorry for not responding guys...
Yes, I used a cable release and ran along side as the Jeep moved (mainly afraid of my camera falling on the floor...lol).
I set the jeep pointing down on a slight gradient (smoothest road I could find) with the engine off (to reduce vibrations). I set the camera up to use, iirc, a 2-4 second shutter speed which was just enough to capture a nice amount of motion blur. The jeep didn't move any faster than 3-4mph.
The rig itself cost like $40-50 to make. I really made things up as I built it. You can use magnets (attach to the bottom of the chassis) or suction cups (the ones I have can allegedly hold up to 100lbs) and as long as the body and suction cups are clean, they won't damage the body work at all.
