nice shot, next time try it at night with some lights around. that way you get some pretty cool light trails.

Can you list what parts you used to build the rig?

I'm wondering how the camera took pictures? was it on a timer? or continuous shoot for 10 seconds?

I'm gonna guess and say he's got a wireless shutter release. You can get RF remotes that work up to 100ft or so.. Just guessing though..

Great shot by the way. Reminds me of what my jeep green use to look like before all the trail marks and very few washings over the last year.. lol

Sorry for not responding guys...

Yes, I used a cable release and ran along side as the Jeep moved (mainly afraid of my camera falling on the floor...lol).

I set the jeep pointing down on a slight gradient (smoothest road I could find) with the engine off (to reduce vibrations). I set the camera up to use, iirc, a 2-4 second shutter speed which was just enough to capture a nice amount of motion blur. The jeep didn't move any faster than 3-4mph.

The rig itself cost like $40-50 to make. I really made things up as I built it. You can use magnets (attach to the bottom of the chassis) or suction cups (the ones I have can allegedly hold up to 100lbs) and as long as the body and suction cups are clean, they won't damage the body work at all.

Nice build. Interesting how keeping the shutter open makes the jeep look like it's going wicked fast. Thanks for posting
