What took me so long
New and proud owner of a 2011 Wrangler Sahara with a soft top up on 37's, So far I have installed a complete new sound system hidden from sight, including Kenwood marine head unit, marine amp, waterproof Polk speakers with separate tweeters and crossovers, 8' sub woofer and all new wiring. I've also modified the center console pushbutton switch module to include two rheostats, one for my sub-woofer level and one to control red LED tape hidden around body as interior lighting, LED reverse lights mounted to hitch reliever and relayed through right taillight reverse light, automatic under-hood utility light, and added turn signals to the fender running lights so they operate as signals and running lights.

Well this is cool! And in Jersey too! I've been wanting to do a waterproof speaker upgrade since forever, my interior tends to get wet. Any pics or other info you care to share about the components you used? Are they a drop -in fit or did you need to modify some stuff?

I got all of my stuff from Crutchfield: Polk DB+ DB6502 and DB652 speakers, Crux CS-CR41 Interface to keep steering controls, Audiofrog GS8ND2 8" sub, Kenwood KMR-M328BT head unit, and Fusion SG-DA51600 marine amp.
- All of the speakers fit in the stock locations in dash and overhead sound-bar.
- I stuffed the Polk crossovers which split the front tweeters and speakers right under the steering column.
- the amp mounts on a piece of plexiglass up under the dash on the driver's side, completely hidden from view AND protected from damage. There was actually alot of room for this huge amp once I removed Jeep amp..
- Crutchfield supplies awesome adapters and wiring harnesses which make things plug and play but I re-wired entire sound system.
**Lots of Poly Fill in the sound-bar, subwoofer box, and front speaker pods made a HUGE difference in sound quality!!**

Polk Crossovers fit perfectly here

First off, welcome, CJ, to JKF!
That was my exact thought. In fact, when I put together a video of still shots of my 2007 JK at the quarter million mile mark, I used those exact words within 22 seconds. :-)
YouTube insists on advertising on my page sometimes. Despite over a million views on my channel, I've never earned a dime from it. As I want it.
Well, at 71 and a widower, I don't have a second for my second, but I do have that second second. :-)

Mark, you sir are an inspiration my friend!
I usually don't have the patience to watch a full you tube video but that slide show was the best 11.50 mins of my day. So many adventures can be seen in that short time.
As far as the 2nd... not really in a position for one but I have tossed around the idea of selling my California Special (2007 model) Mustang that is highly customized just to buy another jeep. Part of me feels like that journey has been finished. Life long dream to build, own and drive a super charged mustang. Now that I've been there done that I feel like I need another journey to start. I know I'll have regrets but my passion has always been 4 wheel drives. From my first Bronco to my now Jeep I've always had one.
Thank you for sharing your video. Very well done.
Cheers

Thanks, Nem! The only compensation I get from my channel are nice comments like that. Always appreciated!
