Default What tires fit on a stock CJ wrangler

Im looking at Cooper Discoverer STT Pro LT 295/65R20 (33"x11.6" 20" rims) for my stock height Sport Unlimited Jeep Wrangler CJ. Ive heard alot of mixed answers on this topic and i was curious if tires that thick would rub and if they do rub is it a slight rub that can be fixed with some thick washers or spacers if needed or do they just completely not fit? Any information would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Just in case you're not trolling, you should probably research your jeep a little more before any modifications as there's no such thing as a sport unlimited CJ. And please, never ever ever ever put washers between the hub and wheel to gain clearance.

Read some of the stickies on the stock tech and modifications sections, they contain some of the most informative information on the Internet.

Welcome to the JK (not CJ) forum

Thanks for the info bud, i see the JK Freak logo suits you well. I'm actually doing this for my girl and i'm pretty sure writing the wrong name on a forum doesn't mean i shouldn't be looking to put a lift on it. but i also don't see a problem with washers, know alot of people with washers on their truck for that little bit of extra clearance and no problems at all. I do appreciate your concern and information on the topic though, thank you.

Please don't place washers for spacers and drive on a public road. Losing a wheel at speed could be fun for you but very bad news to vehicles and people around you. There are a few here that lost wheels at speed with the OEM lock washers on aftermarket wheels and same OEM lock washers with quality spacers with offset pressed studs. Washers are not always the same thickness, so the wheel never sits flush with rotor - no torque on threads- loose wheel. But it's up to you. You just can't plead ignorance if/ when something bad happens.
